What is Neurographic Art?
Don’t let this scientific name scare you! Neurographic Art is THE most fun that you can have with a Sharpie! You start by creating linework with your Sharpie, intersecting, looping, adding some shapes. By filling in the places where the lines intersect in a smooth and curvy way, your piece begins to take on a fluid and flowing look. Then you paint with watercolors in the shapes and areas that you’ve just created, topping it off with mark-making using acrylic markers, micron pens and gel pens. You are not drawing from external references, so you are freed up to let your line and mark-making just go where it wants to go. Each piece is unique!
I LOVE this form of art and I LOVE teaching it! It is amazing to me how many of my students get hooked on it after the very first class. Like I said, THE MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE WITH A SHARPIE!
